Our Pillars

Firehouse Chapel Pillars

The foundation on which the Firehouse Chapel is built is simple: Jesus Christ, His crucifixion, and His resurrection.

Upon that foundation are placed a number of pillars:
• - We must reach the lost of this world
• - We must speak God's word without apology (2 Timothy 4:2).
• - We must pray and know that there is power in prayer (Ephesians 6:18).
• - We must worship God with our time, talent, and treasure (John 4:24).
• - We must share Christ with love and confidence (Ephesians 6:19-20).

Your relationship with God is the most important relationship you will ever have in your life. Spending time in prayer with Him every day is the only way you can maintain that relationship and know what His will is for your life. So, we ask this question: How is your time alone with God? Did you get your 10 or 15 minutes? How about your 30 or 45 minutes? Did you read His word? Did you sit quietly and wait for Him? Did you listen?

We must strive towards righteousness and the holiness of truth. We must set aside falsehoods and be honest with people. We are called to be made new in the attitude of our minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:23-24).

God wants us to release our past hindrances and take hold of the new things He is going to do in us. He wants us to actively look for the fresh work that He is going to begin in us. Isaiah 43:18-19 says: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Everything we do will be rooted in prayer and waiting before God. We will look for His timing and His direction. Isaiah 40:31 (NASB) says: "Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary."
